the measure of the Volume of wood.
Volume is equals to one foot by one foot, by one inch
(i.e. a square foot, one inch thick.)
Put another way, a
board foot is equal to 144 cubic inches of wood. Note:
Cubic inches are based on the Rough Wood, NOT
the surface thickness of the board.
